welcome to the Ode to Paper Studio, it’s lovely to have you here. I’m Milly, a self-taught bookmaker and mixed-media artist. I work out of my cosy atelier in Freiburg, a beautiful old city nestled into the Black Forest, Germany. It’s here I found the space to breathe and lay down the roots of my bookmaking venture, my “ode to paper”.

For me, making art in a sketchbook has become a practice that nourishes my soul by teaching me how to slow down and engage with what I see or feel. In this state, I can feel most at present and in tune with my being, and it is this kind of relief that I wish to share and take part in the making of.
